* Singlish is a largely spoken creole, and as such descriptivism (recording forms that reflect actual pronunciation in spoken language, or as appearing in the linguistic corpus) is more pertinent than strict prescriptivism. noun

  1. a festival celebrated 15 days after the spring equinox (usually between 4 - 6 April depending on the year), where Chinese families visit their relatives' graves (or columbarium spaces in modern times) to clean them, pay their respects, and make offerings. Many modern Singaporeans who are not religious still use the occasion to visit their relatives' graves, albeit without performing the traditional rites.[1]
