  1. a Malay dish of chicken (ayam) marinated in spices and then grilled over charcoal. The chicken is basted with a sauce consisting of ground chilli, shallots, garlic, ginger, candlenuts, pepper, coconut milk, assam (tamarind), etc. while it grills, hence giving rise to the name "percik".
