  2. Bukit Chandu, Malay for "Opium Hill", was the site of a last stand by Lieutenant Adnan Saidi and his platoon of 42 soldiers against the Japanese invaders during World War II. Their heroic sacrifice is commemorated with the museum and interpretive centre, Reflections at Bukit Chandu, located near Pasir Panjang MRT Station and just south-east of the site of the actual battle.
