- a type of live stage performance featuring song, dance, plays, stand-up, and other forms of entertainment. They are often loud, gaudy, and garishly colourful, and are popular among the primarily Chinese-language-speaking, elderly-to-middle-aged demographic in Singapore. They are especially held during festivals such as the Hungry Ghost Festival and Chinese New Year.[1]
