- a traditional Cantonese prawn dumpling, served as a dim sum dish. It consists of prawn meat wrapped in a dumpling skin, which is pleated in a characteristic sail-like shape. When steamed, the skin turns translucent. It is often served with a dumpling soya sauce or chilli oil for dipping.
I’ll even dare to stick my neck out and claim that har gow might be the #1 dim sum item of all time. At least, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were.
