- a tetrahedral dumpling of glutinous rice wrapped in flat leaves (usually bamboo), usually plain, filled with a sweet paste such as tau sar, or stuffed with some other simple ingredients. The rice has a characteristic yellow colour due to the alkaline water used in its preparation, similar to e.g. yellow noodles. While it contains no meat, it is usually considered a type of bak chang.
