1. Terminalia catappa (sometimes also known as Indian almond, beach almond, etc.), a tall tree with a wide crown that grows near bodies of water. Its leaves, when dried, are popular in the aquarium hobby, as they release tannins when steeped in water that have a calming and medicinal effect on Betta fish and some other species.
