- a style of meal involving skewers of various foods such as meats, vegetables, fishballs, tofu, sausages, etc. which are cooked steamboat-style by dipping them in a boiling broth before eating. It was traditionally sold as a street food from carts or stands, which had an open display of skewers that customers could choose from.
