1. a variety of banana which is popular throughout Southeast Asia for its large size and flavour. It is a popular choice for making pisang goreng (goreng pisang).

Finish with a cold dessert. Otherwise barbecue ripe pisang raja. Eat it plain or with a sprinkle of brown sugar and freshly-grated coconut.
