Detailed etymology
definitions
noun
- a game played by linking rubber bands into a chain or rope, which is then set at a certain height that players must jump over. After players have cleared the chain at a given height, the height is then increased until only one player can make it over, at which point the player (or team of players) with the most points is declared the winner. Players shout out their score when jumping over the chain, with the first jump being “zero point”, then the next being “one point”, and so on.
- a long chain or rope made by linking rubber bands together, which is often used to play the game of the same name, but is also used for other games and purposes, e.g. as a makeshift skipping rope
synonyms:
To play zeropoint, we first need a "yay-yay" or a rubber rope. To make one, you need to collect as many rubber bands as possible. Sometimes you can buy a whole packet of them in the shops.
