- any clam of the genus Veneridae, also known as Venus clams, marine bivalve molluscs commonly found on sandy and rocky shores around Asia. There are several different species native to Singapore's shores. They are a popular seafood item, eaten with e.g. sambal, curry, or as an ingredient in other dishes.
