- Cerithidea obtusa (or sometimes other closely related species such as C. quadrata), an edible marine snail with a cone-shaped shell popular in Malay cuisine. It is typically prepared in a sambal or coconut milk-based curry gravy, and is eaten by slurping or sucking the meat out of the shell (hence the Malay name).
